Axel Witsel: "I would like to play in the Premier League"

Having spent four seasons playing in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg, Belgium midfielder Axel Witsel says that he is open to a move to the Premier League.

Belgium midfielder Axel Witsel has revealed that he is open to a Premier League switch after admitting that he is ready to call time on his tenure in Russia.

The 27-year-old, currently playing with the Red Devils at Euro 2016, has spent the last four years in the Russian Premier League with Zenit St Petersburg.

Witsel is quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport as saying: "Next season I would like to play in the Premier League or in Italy. I would like to try a fresh experience in a different championship. I need a new challenge."
