Chile playmaker Alexis Sanchez has revealed that his teammates had already predicted their Copa America triumph after being eliminated from the 2014 World Cup.
Sanchez scored the winning penalty in the Copa final against Argentina, and has since stated that the tournament's host nation had been working towards the victory ever since they produced a standout performance last year in Brazil.
"We talked about it in Brazil that we were going to win the Copa America," said Sanchez, according to Goal.com.
"This is really a great generation, we deserve this."
Chile produced a dominant defensive display at the tournament, as they conceded just one goal in their final three appearances on home soil.
