Crawley Town moved nine points clear of the relegation zone in League One by beating Tranmere Rovers 2-0 at the Broadfield Stadium tonight.

Goals from Matt Tubbs and Gwion Edwards in either half sealed the win for John Gregory's men and boosted their prospects of remaining in the division.
Matt Tubbs fired Town ahead on 38 minutes by delicately curling a free kick beyond the reach of Owain Fon Williams from 25 yards.
Tubbs had earlier been the recipient of the game's first chance, thumping a shot narrowly wide after connecting with a Josh Simpson cross.
Jake Cassidy should have levelled matters early in the second half after latching on to an over-the-top ball, but failed to beat Paul Jones in a one-on-one.
It proved a costly miss as Edwards put the result beyond doubt with five minutes remaining, toe-poking past Fon Williams to seal the win and ease Crawley's relegation fears in the process.
