Kevin Phillips gives Crystal Palace the lead at the break in their clash with Hull City at Selhurst Park.

A Kevin Phillips penalty has given Crystal Palace the lead at the break over Hull City minutes.

The visitors started the game well with Ahmed Elmohamady putting in several dangerous crosses into the area; fortunately for Palace, Mohamed Gedo couldn't get on the end of one.

Wilfried Zaha helped the hosts click into gear as he raided down the left and lifted a cross to the back post which looked to be sneaking into the net before David Stockdale turned it behind.

Palace had a great chance to take the lead when David Meyler brought down Dean Moxey in the box and a penalty was awarded. However, Glenn Murray saw his spot kick saved by Stockdale to keep the scores level.

Ian Holloway's side were given another penalty in stoppage time as Murray's shot hit the arm of a Tigers defender. Kevin Phillips dispatched the spot kick despite Stockdale getting a hand to his shot.
