Alan Pardew: 'I can give boost to Wilfried Zaha'

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew believes that he can help Wilfried Zaha find his best form after a difficult spell for the winger.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has insisted that he is up for the challenge of bringing the best out of Wilfried Zaha.

The winger returned to the Eagles on loan in the summer after being unable to make an impact in his first year at Manchester United, and Pardew believes that helping the 22-year-old with his confidence will be key.

"I think he's an important player, and in terms of finding himself at perhaps the biggest club in the world, bar one or two, and not getting an opportunity and having to come back to his former club, I think that's difficult," the Palace boss told reporters.

"That's difficult for a young player, so I feel for him a little bit.

"I'll do my best to raise his profile, and his spirit for us and for Manchester United, because I'm sure they've got one eye on him to still be a success for them."

Palace take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.
