Ian Holloway leaves Crystal Palace

Ian Holloway has left his position as manager of Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace have announced that Ian Holloway has left his position as manager of the Premier League club.

The news was confirmed at a press conference this evening, with Palace chairman Steve Parish revealing that the relationship was ended by mutual consent.

Holloway's position had been called into question following Monday's 4-1 defeat to Fulham, a result that left the club in 19th position in the table.

Holloway told reporters at the press conference: "I'm proud to have been involved with Palace and I wouldn't want to out-wear my welcome."

The former Blackpool boss led Palace into the Premier League via the Championship playoffs last season.
