Crystal Palace are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong, who has entered the final year of his contract.

Crystal Palace are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong.

The 24-year-old had an impressive campaign in front of goal last season, finding the net 28 times in the Championship, with only Brentford's Ivan Toney scoring more.

Armstrong has entered the final year of his contract at Ewood Park and Rovers are now under pressure to sell their star man or risk losing him for free next summer.

According to Sky Sports News, Palace had an initial offer for the striker rejected but the Eagles remain confident of finalising a transfer.

Southampton, who are now looking to find a replacement for Danny Ings, are also understood to have had a bid rejected by Blackburn, while Norwich City are another club who have expressed their interest.

If Armstrong is sold this summer, then Newcastle United are due to receive 40% of Blackburn's profit, which was agreed as part of the deal when the Magpies sold him to Rovers three years ago.
