Southampton have reportedly won the race to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong, amid interest from a number of Premier League clubs.
The 24-year-old scored an impressive 28 goals in the Championship last season, which caught the eye of Everton, West Ham United, Norwich City and the Saints.
Blackburn are under pressure to make a sale on Armstrong this summer, as they risk losing him on a free transfer next year when his contract at Ewood Park expires.
Football Insider reports that Ralph Hasenhuttl's side have fended off the competition to land Armstrong, who will cost the Saints just over £10m.
Armstrong's performances during the 2020-21 campaign saw him beat Championship star players Ivan Toney, Teemu Pukki and Emiliano Buendia to the PFA Fans' Player of the Year award.
The striker arrived in the North-West in 2018, and has gone on to score 64 goals in 160 appearances for the club.
