Crystal Palace are reportedly keeping a close eye on Will Hughes's uncertain situation at Watford.
The 26-year-old has formed an integral part of the Hornets' midfield since arriving from Derby County in 2017, but his deal at Vicarage Road now has less than 12 months left to run.
Negotiations over a new contract for Hughes at Watford are not thought to be going smoothly, with the midfielder supposedly being demoted to the Under-23s after rejecting the offer of a five-year deal with a bumper pay rise.
According to football.london, Crystal Palace are monitoring the situation and could look to swoop for Hughes should his stint at Watford ultimately come to an end.
Patrick Vieira has wasted no time in the transfer market following his arrival at Selhurst Park, and the Eagles bolstered their midfield ranks on Friday with the loan signing of Conor Gallagher from Chelsea.
Hughes scored two goals in 30 Championship games for Watford last season, and he has made 118 appearances for the club in total over the past four years.
