Crystal Palace plan Mile Jedinak contract talks

Crystal Palace will make a second attempt to tie down Mile Jedinak on a longer contract this week, amid reports of interest from Premier League rivals.

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway will reportedly reopen contract talks with Mile Jedinak as their attention now turns to keeping key players at Selhurst Park beyond this season.

Jedinak has made a strong start to life in the Premier League, but will become a free agent next summer when his current deal expires with Palace.

Eagles boss Holloway is desperate to fend off interest in the Australian international and is planning to offer the midfielder fresh terms to stop him from walking away for nothing in June, according to The Mirror.

The 29-year-old has already rejected one contract offer from Palace this summer and wants to keep his options open, with Fulham, Stoke City and Aston Villa reportedly among the clubs monitoring his progress.

After signing 16 players during a frantic summer of recruitment, Palace are now looking at who has a long-term future in South London, with Julian Speroni and Kagisho Dikgacoi also earmarked for future contract offers.
