Jill Scott: 'England Women will give everything against Japan'

Jill Scott insists that England Women will 'give everything' during their Women's World Cup semi-final against defending champions Japan.

Jill Scott has insisted that England Women will "leave everything on the pitch" during their Women's World Cup semi-final against Japan.

The Lionesses will meet the defending champions tonight after beating hosts Canada in the last round.

Despite facing a stern challenge in their bid to reach the final, midfielder Scott believes that England are capable of knocking out the holders.

"We are very well prepared, as we have been for every game. That's why we've reached the semi-finals," she told the Football Association's official website. "It's exciting times, to say you're in the semi-final of a World Cup.

"A lot of the players have waited a long time for this moment. We're really excited. We are looking forward to the game and giving it everything we've got. We'll leave everything on the pitch."

The winner of tonight's game will meet the USA in the final on Sunday.
