Paul Ince believes that being outsiders for the tournament will help England to success.

Former England international Paul Ince believes that the country's underdog tag could help them to success at Euro 2012.

It is the first time in a long while that the Three Lions have entered a tournament not as one of the favourites and are widely regarded as outsiders. Ince believes that Roy Hodgson's side may benefit from being under no pressure.

"This tournament is going to be different to any other one," Ince told talkSPORT.

"In 1996, 1998, 2002, the expectation to go and do well and win it was there and that siphoned through the squad. All the big tournaments we were under pressure.

"This squad there is no expectation level. They go there relaxed, no-one expects them to do anything and they could be the surprise package.

"Don't tell me the likes of Gerrard and Lamps and Hart aren't good enough. The biggest thing for me is togetherness."

England are in Group D alongside France, Sweden and co-hosts Ukraine.
