Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne has revealed that his England debut was a dream come true after he made his first start in Saturday's 3-1 win over Slovenia at Wembley.
Clyne has been part of a Saints side that has risen up to second in the Premier League, and his good form was rewarded with a first cap in England's Euro 2016 qualifier.
Speaking to TheFA.com after the game, the right-back said: "It was probably one of the best days of my life. It's what I've been dreaming about ever since I was a little boy, playing for England, and I got to do it today.
"It's a great feeling to come out here and play at Wembley for England. It's a proud moment for me, my family and my friends.
"It was a great experience lining up with the lads, singing the national anthem, getting prepared for the game. I enjoyed playing today and am looking forward to playing more."
The victory maintains England's 100% record in qualifying and keeps them top of Group E.
