Sir Geoff Hurst wants England to reach Euro 2016 semi-finals

Sir Geoff Hurst believes that anything less than reaching the semi-finals would constitute disappointment for England at Euro 2016.

Sir Geoff Hurst has set England a target of reaching the semi-finals at Euro 2016 this summer.

The Three Lions head to France as the only team to have qualified with a 100% record, and confidence is even higher at the moment after Roy Hodgson's side staged an unlikely comeback to beat world champions Germany 3-2 last night.

Hurst was impressed with England's display in Berlin and now wants them to target a spot in at least the last four at the European Championship.

"I think you've got to get close to the semi-final," Hurst told the BBC's Sportsweek.

"A good performance in the quarter-final and possibly a semi-final at least, I think we're absolutely looking at that in a Euro competition.

"Anything less than that would be extremely disappointing for the squad, the players and the fans, and people like myself who are huge fans of England."

Last night's win made England the fourth-favourites with the bookmakers behind France, Germany and Spain.
