England to take on Netherlands in Wembley friendly next March

The FA confirms that England will play the Netherlands in an international friendly at Wembley on March 29 next year.

The Football Association has confirmed that England will take on the Netherlands at Wembley in an international friendly on March 29.

Roy Hodgson's men will use the match as preparation for next summer's European Championships in France.

The Three Lions' opposition for the 8pm kickoff will not be competing at Euro 2016 as they failed to qualify after finishing fourth in Group A.

England, who booked their place in the finals with a 100% record, have faced the Dutch team 20 times overall, recording five victories, nine draws and five defeats.

The March friendly is added to a schedule that involves non-competitive matches against Spain, France and Germany.
