Roy Hodgson 'comfortable' despite no contract talks until after Euros

The FA says that Roy Hodgson is content despite no contract talks planned until after Euro 2016.

Roy Hodgson is "comfortable" going into the European Championships with his future as England boss still unclear, according to Football Association chief executive Martin Glenn.

Hodgson, whose contract is due to expire at the conclusion of the Championships, had said in July that he "didn't know" if he was happy with the situation.

Speaking at the Soccerex conference in Manchester, Glenn stated: "It has been made to be more of an issue than it is.

"Roy is very comfortable. He knows it is a results business. We want to avoid the slightly unsavoury situation we had with Fabio Capello at the World Cup [in 2010]."

Capello signed a two-year contract weeks before the start of 2010 World Cup, only for the team to underperform and leave the FA with a significant bill should they wish to dispense with the services of the Italian.

He was eventually sacked in February, to be replaced by Hodgson.

England have already qualified for next summer's tournament in France, winning all eight of their group matches to date.
