Jay Rodriguez receives England call

Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez is handed his first international call-up for England's upcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany.

Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez has been selected in England's squad to play Chile and Germany.

The 25-year-old has been joined by Southampton teammate Adam Lallana with both impressing at St Mary's Stadium this season, while forward Rickie Lambert retains his place in the 28-man squad.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has been recalled to the senior squad for the first time since July 2012, while Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart keeps his spot, despite being dropped from the starting lineup at the Etihad Stadium.

England host Chile on Friday, November 15, before facing Germany at Wembley four days later.
