Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell is expected to be named in Fabio Capello's provisional squad to face Spain and Sweden, according to the Daily Star.
Capello is considering whether to hand the 20-year-old his first senior debut for the Three Lions as Steven Gerrard, Jack Wilshere and Tom Cleverley will be absent through injury.
Despite Rodwell already being named in Stuart Pearce's Under-21 squad, the Italian manager is believed to be eager to give the midfielder a run out.
England take on Spain in an international friendly on November 12 and then Sweden three days later.
