Capello to pick Terry for England squad

Fabio Capello will reportedly include John Terry in his England squad to face Spain and Sweden despite the racism row.

England boss Fabio Capello is expected to pick John Terry to play in the friendlies against Spain and Sweden despite racism accusations, according to the Daily Star.

The Italian has reportedly been deliberating on whether to include the Chelsea and England captain while he is under investigation by the Football Assocation and the Metropolitan Police for racism allegations.

The FA are expected to announce the results of the investigation, which was launched after Terry was alleged to have racially abused Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand during the London derby a fortnight ago.

Unless the 30-year-old is charged by police, the former Real Madrid boss is likely to keep the Three Lions captain.

"It is a difficult situation for him, but Fabio does not think it would be fair to leave Terry out when nothing has yet been proven against him," a source close to Capello is quoted as saying.

"In England it is 'innocent until proven guilty'. If a judge was to declare Terry guilty or the FA to rule against him, of course it would be different."

Capello will have to name his squad for the international friendlies by Sunday evening.
