Glenn Hoddle tips Frazier Campbell for World Cup spot

Former England boss Glenn Hoddle says that Frazier Campbell could be named in Roy Hodgson's World Cup squad for Brazil next summer.

Former England manager Glenn Hoddle believes that Cardiff City striker Frazier Campbell is the dark horse to secure a place in Roy Hodgson's World Cup squad.

The 26-year-old, who has earned one cap for the Three Lions, scored City's first in the 2-2 draw with his ex-club Manchester United on Sunday, taking his tally to three goals for the season so far.

"He is a good mover and likes to get in behind and if he can play in the Cardiff team week in, week out he might get on the plane [to Brazil]," he told Sky Sports News.

"England are not flush with finishers at the moment, while Campbell has done it against top quality teams (Man United and Manchester City) and playing with better players, no disrespect to Cardiff, he could get more goal-scoring opportunities, so maybe he is worth a look at."

Campbell's only appearance for England came in the 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands at Wembley in 2012 after being named in the squad by interim boss Stuart Pearce.
