Joachim Low: 'There are too many foreigners in the Premier League'

Germany boss Joachim Low believes that England's struggles at the World Cup are down to high number of foreign players in the Premier League making it harder to find English talent.

Germany boss Joachim Low has expressed his belief that England's struggles in major tournaments are down to the high number of foreign players in the Premier League.

The Three Lions crashed out of the World Cup at the group stage, recording their worst performance at the tournament since 1958.

Low feels that the job of the England manager is made harder due to the lack of quality players available to him in the top flight of English football.

He told reporters: "If England has a problem, it is that their league has a disadvantage because higher percentage of foreigners, so it becomes difficult for national coach to get things moving.

"We have changed over recent years because lots of young German players in German clubs are given an advantage over foreigners and we're benefitting from that.

"In England [there are] many foreigners and perhaps that is not always beneficial."

Germany face France in their World Cup quarter-final clash later today.
