David Ospina: 'Colombia excited for England clash'

Colombia goalkeeper David Ospina says that his side are "excited" ahead of their last-16 tie with England on Tuesday.

Colombia goalkeeper David Ospina has said that his side are "excited" ahead of their last-16 tie with England on Tuesday.

The Arsenal stopper, who featured in Colombia's three group-stage games, is expected to continue between the sticks in Moscow next week as the South Americans look to match their quarter-final appearance in 2014.

Ospina told the Daily Mail that his team's wealth of experienced players will serve them well for their first knockout tie.

"It has gone well for us so far and we feel confident because this our second World Cup together. We're a bit more experienced," the 29-year-old said. "Things went well for us in Brazil in 2014 and we have the same ambitions but we have also learned a lot.

"We feel we've got a good team and we're excited about what we can achieve. We've got lots of players who play at big clubs in Europe and are used to these kind of matches.

"We're only thinking one game at a time, going step by step. You can't start thinking about who you will play next if you win. It's the same when we asked if we would rather play England or Belgium, you cannot answer because this World Cup is very closely contested. So you just have to stay calm and see what comes."

Ospina has made 86 appearances for his country since making his international debut in 2007.
