Marcus Rashford says that England will use the disappointment of Euro 2016 to help them perform at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Marcus Rashford has insisted that England will use the disappointment of Euro 2016 to help them perform at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Three Lions were eliminated by Iceland in the last-16 stage of Euro 2016, which was a result that saw Roy Hodgson lose his job as head coach.

England will open their World Cup Group G campaign against Tunisia on June 18, before also taking on Panama and Belgium as they bid to make the knockout round of the tournament.

Manchester United forward Rashford has said that his country must 'express themselves' as they look to make an impression in Russia.

"The feeling of losing is a nasty feeling. Sometimes when you speak to people they don't really understand the feeling," Rashford told reporters.

"We'll definitely take the things that happened in that tournament into the next one because that's going to put us in good stead.

"We have to express ourselves. Over the last 18 months or so we have improved as a team, and we have to go there and show everyone that we have improved as a team. If we do anything less than that then we are going to be disappointed in ourselves."

England's final match before the World Cup begins is against Costa Rica on Thursday night.
