Everton winger Yannick Bolasie is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after scans confirmed that he needs surgery to cure a knee ligament injury.

Everton have confirmed that winger Yannick Bolasie will undergo surgery after picking up a knee injury.

The 27-year-old was injured in the 68th minute of Sunday's 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Goodison Park, and looks set for a long spell on the sidelines.

On Monday, the Merseyside club posted on Twitter: "Yannick Bolasie to undergo knee surgery after scans confirmed a serious ligament injury against Man Utd. Come back stronger, Yannick!"

Bolasie signed for Everton from Crystal Palace in a £25m deal in August, making 13 Premier League appearances this season.
