Everton's Steven Naismith "50-50" for Tottenham Hotspur match

Everton manager Roberto Martinez gives Steven Naismith a "50-50" chance of making their trip to Tottenham and also has positive news on the fitness of Arouna Kone.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has given Steven Naismith a "50-50" chance of being fit for their Premier League trip to Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

The Scotland forward limped off in the penultimate minute of the Toffees' 2-1 win over West Ham United.

Martinez has ruled Naismith out of tomorrow night's Europa League trip to Wolfsburg, where long-term absentee Arouna Kone could feature, but has revealed that he could be in contention for Spurs on Sunday.

"It is great news on Arouna Kone, who came through 45 minutes really well with the under-21s last night and will be in the squad tomorrow," Martinez told reporters.

"Steven Naismith has a soft tissue problem, but we don't think it is serious. He has a 50-50 chance for the weekend."

He added: "We have massive respect for Wolfsburg. We know they are in good form, but the squad is ready for the challenge."

Ivory Coast striker Kone has not played for Everton since October 2013 because of a knee ligament injury.
