Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has ruled out becoming the next Everton boss.
The 52-year-old, who had a short spell at the Merseyside outfit during his playing days, has been named as a potential contender for the position.
Everton are searching for a new head coach after deciding to part company with Roberto Martinez on Thursday following a three-year spell in charge.
Frank de Boer is currently the bookmakers' favourite to set up home at Goodison Park, and Hughes has taken himself out of the running.
"I'm one of the more experienced managers in the Premier League so maybe it isn't surprising to see my name up there," Sky Sports News quotes Hughes as saying.
"I'm more than happy here and looking forward to next season. We've a lot of good things going on and my job certainly isn't finished.
"I feel sorry for Roberto Martinez, who is a really engaging guy. Unfortunately for him, they have decided to go in a different way."
Hughes has been Stoke manager since 2013.
