David Moyes insists that Everton will miss captain Phil Neville when he leaves the club at the end of the season.

Everton manager David Moyes believes that the club will feel the void left by captain Phil Neville when he leaves the outfit at the end of the season.

The former Manchester United player announced his decision to move on from Goodison Park earlier this month, with the intention of keeping his playing career alive.

"He has been really influential," Moyes told Yahoo! Sport. "He has been a great captain and a great player since he joined us and will be missed. He has been someone that I can rely on both on and off the pitch.

"I have got no doubt that he will go on to work in football and he is someone who we will miss. It will be a hard position to fill because the way he has captained the team has been excellent over the years."

Neville signed for the Merseyside outfit from Old Trafford eight years ago.
