Yannick Bolasie "settling in well" at new club Everton

Everton winger Yannick Bolasie says that he will return to his club side on a real high after helping DR Congo to the Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Yannick Bolasie has admitted that he cannot wait to get some games under his belt at Everton after a disrupted start to his Goodison Park career.

The 27-year-old has spent the past fortnight on international duty with DR Congo, helping his national side to secure a place in next year's Africa Cup of Nations.

Prior to jetting back to Africa, Bolasie did make three appearances for Everton - lasting the full 90 minutes just once - and he now hopes to use his recent success with Congo to help push on in his new surroundings on Merseyside.

"I am settling in well, even though there has been a little bit of disruption with going away on international duty," he told the club's official website. "Off the pitch, I've not seen much of Liverpool yet because I have been away in DR Congo.

"I have just moved in to a new place but literally the day after, I was on a plane. But it was a good result for us because we needed a win or a draw to qualify. It was great to go on and get a win for our home crowd.

"We played in front of nearly 100,000 people so to win for them and for the country was good. In Congo, it's the same as here at Everton - the fans are passionate about their football and their team."

Bolasie penned a five-year deal at Everton for a fee of around £28m, bringing an end to his four-year stint at Crystal Palace.
