Team News: Arouna Kone leads Everton line against Southampton

Everton frontman Arouna Kone leads the line in place of injured striker Romelu Lukaku as Roberto Martinez's men take on Southampton in the Premier League.

Everton have decided to put their attacking faith in lone striker Arouna Kone as they welcome Southampton to Goodison Park in the Premier League.

Kone will lead the line in place of the injured Romelu Lukaku, while Gareth Barry also comes in to replace Darron Gibson who misses out with a fracture in his fifth metatarsal.

Today's visitors will be looking for goals from Shane Long and Graziano Pelle, with Eljero Elia also seeking to provide some attacking intent for Ronald Koeman's side.

Skipper Jose Fonte is to marshal from the back, as Morgan Schneiderlin and Victor Wanyama both sit in the middle in an attempt to break up Everton's forward play.

Everton: Howard; Baines, Jagielka; Stones, Coleman, Barry, McCarthy, Osman, Barkley, Lennon, Kone

Southampton: Davis; Bertrand, Fonte, Alderweireld, Clyne, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Ward-Prowse, Elia, Long, Pelle
