Ademola Lookman 'set to stay at Everton'

Everton are reportedly increasingly confident that Ademola Lookman will stay at the club beyond the end of the European transfer window, despite interest from RB Leipzig.

Everton are reportedly confident that Ademola Lookman will stay at the club beyond today's European transfer deadline.

Lookman is wanted by Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, who were impressed by the youngster during a loan spell which saw him score five goals in 11 appearances during the second half of last season.

Leipzig are understood to have seen offers of £12m and £25m already rejected by the Toffees, who are holding out for a bid of around £28m plus add-ons.

Lookman is also thought to be keen on the move, but the Liverpool Echo reports that a deal now looks unlikely to be struck before the 5pm German transfer deadline.

Everton manager Marco Silva has insisted that Lookman is in his plans, although the 20-year-old has not yet featured for the club this season.

Lookman joined Everton for £10.5m in January 2017 but has since played just 24 first-team games for the club.
