Everton 'target Espanyol's Sergio Garcia'

Everton are close to completing a deal for Espanyol's Sergio Garcia this summer, according to a report.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is reportedly closing in on a £3m deal to bring Espanyol striker Sergio Garcia to Goodison Park.

Garcia, a product of Barcelona's youth system, has impressed this season with their city rivals, netting 10 times, and the Daily Star claims that Martinez has enquired about the forward's availability.

Espanyol may need to sell players to stabilise their finances and the Everton boss is said to be confident of sealing a deal for the player, who is also attracting interest from clubs in France.

Martinez is also reported to be keen on signing Barcelona star Issac Cuenca in the summer as he looks to build on a promising campaign so far.
