Everton have told central midfielder Andre Gomes to find a new club in the upcoming transfer window, according to a report.
The 28-year-old was restricted to just seven starts in a total of 19 appearances across all competitions for the Toffees during the 2021-22 campaign, with the likes of Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure often preferred in the centre of the pitch.
Everton boss Frank Lampard is preparing for a major squad overhaul this summer following a poor season in which the Merseyside club narrowly avoided relegation from the top flight.
The futures of key players Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin remain up in the air, whilst the Chelsea legend is looking to clear out several fringe players from his squad.
One of those is said to be Gomes according to Football Insider, who are reporting that Everton are prepared to listen to offers for the Portuguese midfielder over the coming weeks.
The report continues with how Lampard has supposedly informed Gomes that he is free to search for a new club ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, due to him not being a part of his plans for the season ahead.
After initially impressing on a 12-month loan spell from Barcelona in the 2018-19 season, Everton purchased Gomes on a permanent deal for around £22m, signing a five-year deal worth around £120,000-a-week, which expires in June 2024.
