Didier Deschamps "can't wait" for Uruguay, Brazil clashes

Didier Deschamps admits that the France camp are looking forward to their two friendlies in South America.

France coach Didier Deschamps has admitted that his players "can't wait" for their South American double-header against Uruguay and Brazil.

France face Uruguay at the Centenario Stadium on Wednesday before travelling to Brazil on Sunday, and Deschamps said that his players are aware of the importance of both friendlies.

"With the long trip, some of the lads were tired but the overwhelming feeling is one of strong desire to play," he told Ligue1.com. "We need to look long-term. I don't know what the intensity levels will be like in these two matches but the players are happy to be here playing in these games.

"The lads can't wait. On Monday, we had to force them off the training ground after our session, otherwise they would have stayed out there practising shots on goal.

"For me, these two matches are equally important. Sure, there is prestige in playing Brazil, but Uruguay are a big team as well. Their recent results may not have been that good, but they were in the top five of the FIFA rankings when we played them in August."

France's next competitive game is on September 6 away to Georgia.
