France manager Didier Deschamps has encouraged his players to "savour" all international victories as he feels it is becoming harder and harder to score many goals at that level.
France beat Belarus 3-1 last night to top Group I with six points and Deschamps said that the table position is a reward for his team's "spirit".
"It's always a very good evening when you win," FIFA.com quotes Deschamps as saying. "It's becoming rarer and rarer to score three goals at the highest level, so you have to savour it.
"Spain's great team only won 1-0 in Georgia. It's difficult for everyone. We should savour these six points, but it's a reward for the general spirit. The players feel good together. That's only background noise if you don't see the result on the pitch, but there's a collective desire to make an effort."
France's next fixture is away to Spain on October 16.
