Fulham chairman Mohamed Al Fayed has insisted that the club are "working hard" to bring new players to Craven Cottage.
However, the 84-year-old has warned supporters that they may not be able to make any additions before tomorrow's 11pm deadline.
"We have been working hard in the transfer market to identify players that could add to the squad and make an immediate difference," he wrote in Fulham's matchday programme.
"This is not an easy task and regardless of how much you invest, getting the right player at this time of year is the most important thing."
Speculation this afternoon has linked the Whites with a move for Tottenham Hotspur's Tom Huddlestone.
