Martin Jol: "We are one or two players short"

Fulham manager Martin Jol admits that he would like to add a couple more players to his squad before next month's transfer deadline.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has admitted that he would like to add a couple more players to his squad before next month's transfer deadline.

However, the Cottagers boss, whose side won 1-0 at Sunderland on the opening day of the season, says that he is "happy" with the players currently at his disposal.

"You don't know what will happen because we have still got 10 days to go, and maybe we are one or two players short," Jol told reporters.

"But if it stays like it is now I think we can be quite happy because if you would have told me three or four weeks ago that Darren Bent would be on board, as well as Scott Parker and also Adel Taarabt, who played for me at Spurs and was a £15m player [at QPR] probably 18 months ago, I wouldn't believe you, so I am a happy man."

Fulham have already spent £12m this summer, as well as signing Aston Villa forward Bent on loan.
