Kwesi Appiah to remain in Ghana role

The Ghana FA confirms that Kwesi Appiah is to remain in charge of the national side following their exit from the group stage of the World Cup.

The Ghana FA has confirmed that Kwesi Appiah is continue in his role as head coach with the national side.

The team were eliminated from the group stages after picking up just a point from their three matches, while two players were sent home early and handed indefinite bans following altercations in training.

BBC Sport reports that the executive committee for the Ghana FA has "full confidence" in Appiah, who has been in charge of the side since 2012 following a five-year stint as an assistant and youth coach.

Kevin-Prince Boateng accused Appiah of insulting him during the confrontation that saw the midfielder sent home from the tournament.
