Gillingham have reportedly made an approach for Newport County manager Justin Edinburgh.
The Gills are currently looking for a new boss following the dismissal of Peter Taylor at the end of December.
Edinburgh recently agreed a contract extension until 2017 after he was linked with a move to the League One side following Taylor's exit.
The 45-year-old succeeded Anthony Hudson as Exiles manager in October 2011 and went on to lead them back into the Football League after a 25-year absence in 2013.
Newport are currently occupying a playoff place in League Two.
According to BBC Wales Sport, Edinburgh now wants to join Gillingham.
Former Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler has taken charge of first-team affairs until a permanent successor to Taylor is found.
