Saturday's Argentine Primera Division predictions including Talleres vs. Instituto

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Argentine Primera Division fixtures, including Talleres vs. Instituto.

Godoy Cruz vs. Argentinos Jrs (Saturday, 7.00pm)

Godoy Cruz will go in search of a much-needed victory when they welcome Argentinos Juniors to Estadio Malvinas Argentinas on Saturday.

The visitors, meanwhile, head into this one buoyed by an impressive win last time out, which saw them end a run of consecutive defeats.

We say: Godoy Cruz 1-1 Argentinos Juniors

Godoy Cruz are yet to find their feet in attack but Argentinos Juniors' defensive frailties should see the home side register at least once in this one.

That said, we are backing a share of the spoils with honours even at the end of the 90 minutes in Mendoza.

Velez Sarsfield vs. Defensa (Saturday, 7.00pm)

Velez Sarsfield and Defensa y Justicia will do battle at Estadio Jose Amalfitani on Saturday in round nine of the second phase of the 2024 Argentine Primera Division campaign.

The hosts will be looking to make it four wins on the bounce, while their visitors head to Buenos Aires winless in 13 consecutive games across all competitions.

We say: Velez Sarsfield 2-0 Defensa y Justicia

Velez Sarsfield will head into this one with the wind in their sails and unsurprisingly so given recent results.

Defensa y Justicia, on the other hand, are in need of a pick-me-up, but we expect their misery to continue at the sound of the final whistle here, with the home side claiming a relatively routine triumph.

Talleres vs. Instituto (Saturday, 9.15pm)

Talleres and Instituto will go head-to-head at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes on Saturday in gameweek nine of the second phase of the 2024 Argentina Primera Division season.

The teams had to make do with a share of the spoils last time out, and they will both be looking to go one better in this weekend's encounter.

We say: Talleres 2-1 Instituto

Based on the evidence of previous meetings, we should be in for an entertaining contest with goals at both ends.

Having said that, we are backing Talleres to narrowly see off the challenge of Instituto and come away with maximum points in the end.

Independiente vs. San Lorenzo (Saturday, 11.15pm)

Snapping a three-game winless run will be the objective for Independiente when San Lorenzo come visiting Estadio Libertadores de America on Saturday.

While the visitors played out a stalemate in their last involvement, they are now unbeaten in three straight matches and will be looking to continue their upturn in form.

We say: Independiente 0-1 San Lorenzo

The teams are neck-and-neck in the league standings, and we expect that to translate into a tight affair this weekend.

That said, we just about fancy San Lorenzo to scrape a narrow victory at the sound of the final whistle in Buenos Aires.

Huracan vs. Racing (Sunday, 12.30am)

Seeking to open up a three-point lead at the top of the Argentine Primera Division table, Huracan play host to Racing Club at the Estadio Tomas Adolfo Duco on Saturday.

This will be the first meeting between the sides since their eight-goal thriller in September 2023, when the Globo stormed to a 5-3 victory in the round of 16 of the Copa Argentina.

We say: Huracan 2-2 Racing Club

The last eight meetings between Huracan and Racing have produced a combined 30 goals, and we anticipate another action-packed contest with plenty of goalmouth action at the Estadio Tomas Adolfo Duco. Both sides head into the weekend evenly matched on paper, and we predict that they will cancel out each other's efforts.
