Rafael van der Vaart is still smarting from his penalty miss against Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday that cost Hamburg two points.

Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has admitted his disappointment at missing a penalty against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga on Wednesday.

The Dutchman failed to find the target from 12 yards in the 55th minute, before Alvaro Dominguez scored a 92nd-minute equaliser for the hosts to bag a 2-2 draw.

"It is really, really disappointing," Van der Vaart told Bild. "We would have won if I had scored. I resent it very much.

"If we had not conceded in the last minute, I would not have thought for a second about my little mishap."

Hamburg are currently 14th in the Bundesliga table with just four points from five matches.
