Chris Powell pleased with Huddersfield Town response

Huddersfield boss Chris Powell reveals that he was delighted with the way that his side responded to their recent run of poor form to take a point against Birmingham.

Huddersfield Town boss Chris Powell has admitted that he was pleased with his side's response to their recent poor run of form in their 1-1 draw against Birmingham City.

The Blues took the lead after 10 minutes through David Cotterill, but Joe Lolley brought the Terriers back on level terms before half time.

Neither side could add to the scoreline in the second half, but Powell has revealed that it was good to see his team playing with confidence once again following a run of three straight defeats.

"I haven't smiled after a game for a while, but I have to say that today was a very good response from our players after a horrendous week and three defeats," he told reporters.

"I thought we set the tone from minute one and undeservedly went a goal behind, as I felt we were on the front foot and took the game to the home side.

"Despite that we carried on and I thought we fully deserved the equaliser. We could have been two or three up at half-time; Joel Lynch had a good header saved by Darren Randolph and Jacob Butterfield flashed one across the area. We had opportunities, but it wasn't to be."

Huddersfield are 18th in the Championship table, nine points clear of the relegation zone.
