Aaron Mooy insists that he will use Australia's World Cup campaign as 'a chance to get better', rather than showcasing his talents to watching clubs.

Huddersfield Town midfielder Aaron Mooy has insisted that he is not using Australia's World Cup campaign as a chance to put himself in the shop window.

The 27-year-old has played a key part in the Terriers' promotion to the Premier League and their subsequent survival in the 2017-18 campaign.

Mooy is now part of Australia's squad in Russia and has already played the full 90 minutes against France, with at least two more games - against Denmark and Peru - to come.

Asked if he has any thoughts of moving on to another club this summer on the back of his World Cup experience, however, the former Manchester City ace told FourFourTwo: "I am very happy at Huddersfield. It's a great club for me and I'm proud to be there.

"It's my first World Cup and it might be my last World Cup so I just want to enjoy where I am and try my best. I'm just trying to get better, keep pushing myself and see where that takes me. I'm enjoying every minute of it."

Mooy started 34 of Huddersfield's 38 top-flight games last season and played a direct part in seven goals.
