Hull City midfielder George Boyd admits that he is eagerly anticipating the start of the new season after making his move to the Tigers permanent last week.

Hull City winger George Boyd has admitted that he cannot wait for the new season to start following his side's promotion to the Premier League.

Boyd made his loan move from Peterborough United permanent last week after he joined the Tigers on a short-term basis in February.

He told the club's official website: "I don't think it has sunk in yet. I think when the fixtures come out and you see Hull City going to places like Old Trafford, Arsenal and Chelsea, that is when it will sink in.

"It's something you want to do as a kid, and playing against the best week in, week out can only make us better as players.

"I can't wait to get back for pre-season. I think we're all still buzzing from what happened on the last day of the season. We'll all look after ourselves during the break and hopefully we can push on and have a good season in 2013-14."

Boyd scored twice in 13 appearances for Steve Bruce's side last season.
