James Chester impressed by Hull City progress

Hull City defender James Chester admits that he is surprised by the progress that the club has made in recent years.

Hull City defender James Chester has praised the club for the progress that it has made in recent years.

The Tigers, who will take part in the Europa League next season, have brought in players such as Shane Long, Nikica Jelavic and Tom Huddlestone over the past 18 months.

Chester believes that the quality within the Hull squad is a testament to the work done by manager Steve Bruce.

"The changes have been huge during the three-and-a-half years I've been here, but especially in the last two years," he told the Hull Daily Mail. "The quality of players we've been able to bring in has made it a huge turnaround.

"The gaffer has done a great job in bringing in some real quality players and they'll help us keep improving."

Hull will find out who they will face in the third round of Europa League qualifying when the draw is made on Friday.
