Curtis Davies considering playing for Sierra Leone

Hull City defender Curtis Davies admits that he would consider playing for Sierra Leone in the future.

Hull City defender Curtis Davies has revealed that he may make himself available to play for Sierra Leone in the future.

Davies has won plaudits for his displays in the Premier League this season, but at the age of 29 he admits that his chances of being handed an England cap look slim.

"I'm striving my heart out to try to get in the England squad and, after that, Sierra Leone is my next country," the former England Under-21 international told reporters.

"It would be difficult but it would be a bigger option for me. The only thing is the African calendar and them playing African Nations in January.

"Before I retire, if I haven't manage to live my dream and play for England, then I'll definitely consider going over and playing for Sierra Leone."

Davies qualifies to play for Sierra Leone as his father was born in the West African country.
