Steve Bruce: 'Hull City have to battle until the end of the season'

Hull City boss Steve Bruce is adamant that his team must be ready to fight beyond their match against Burnley to retain their place in the Premier League.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has insisted that his side have to be prepared to battle until the final game of the season in their quest for Premier League survival.

The Tigers are just one point clear of the bottom three following their defeat to Arsenal on Monday, and now face a vital clash against Burnley at the KC Stadium later today.

Bruce has admitted that a victory over the Clarets would ease the burden on his team going into their final two matches of the campaign against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

He told the club's official website: "We realise the importance of the game. It's not going to be the defining game, but we'd love to get a result from it and that would put us in a healthy situation.

"But who can predict what is going to happen? All of the teams at the bottom responded last week, we did it the week before with two wins.

"It's been so up and down over the last few weeks, but make no mistake, we know that if we can post three points on Saturday you hope that it will be three points towards keeping us up, but even then there's still two games to go and all to play for. It looks like it's going to go down to the wire and we've got to be ready for that."

Hull are 17th in the Premier League ahead of their match against the Clarets.
