Claudio Ranieri is expected to be named the new Inter Milan coach following the sacking of Gian Piero Gasperini.
The 59-year-old, who has been out of work since he left his post at Roma in February, has spoken of his potential new job.
"I think I will need to talk a lot with the squad, the mental aspect is very important," the former Chelsea boss told RAI Sport.
"Inter are a great team. We have to pick up the pace after this false start. The players are there and we have everything to lift the team.
"I do not like to promise things. I want the best from these players, who have so much to give."
Ranieri would become the Nerazzurri's fourth manager since Jose Mourinho left in 2009 following the departures of Rafael Benitez, Leonardo and Gasperini.
