Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has insisted that he has confidence for the forthcoming campaign despite a poor pre-season showing.
The Serie A side have failed to score in their last three friendlies against Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Real Madrid, but Mancini spoke of the positives following his side's 3-0 loss to the latter this afternoon.
"Apart from the result, which we're obviously not happy about, I'm satisfied with the first-half performance. We played against one of the best teams in the world," he told reporters.
"Obviously the results haven't been positive, but the main thing is to see a performance and we've got better as a team with every game. I'm not worried that we haven't scored because I'm sure that Inter will step up when it matters."
Mancini added his belief that Inter could now compete for top spot in Serie A, stating: "I'm confident of our future and the season ahead. We have players capable of challenging for the title."
Inter have been busy in the transfer market this summer, signing the likes of Geoffrey Kondogbia, Miranda, Marvin Montoya, Jonathan Biabiany and Jeison Murillo.
