Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti says that there is no truth in rumours that Walter Mazzarri will succeed Andrea Stramaccioni as manager.

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has rubbished rumours suggesting that Walter Mazzarri is about to replace Andrea Stramaccioni as manager.

The Nerazzurri had a disastrous second half of the season, finishing ninth in Serie A after announcing themselves as potential title contenders before the winter break.

That has led to intense speculation that Stramaccioni will be axed as coach, coinciding with Mazzarri's exit from Napoli.

The 51-year-old confirmed that he will be leaving the Stadio San Paolo following Partenopei's final game of the season against Roma on Sunday.

Reports have suggested that Mazzarri has already agreed to take the Inter job, but Moratti insists that there is no truth in the rumours.

"The signing of Mazzarri? That has no truth to it," Moratti told reporters.

Stramaccioni took charge of Inter following Claudio Ranieri's dismissal in March of last year.
