Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic is thought to be weighing up the option of a loan deal in order to increase his chances of going to the World Cup with Croatia.
The 19-year-old, who signed for the club for £10m in January, has started in five of his 14 appearances in Serie A under new boss Walter Mazzarri.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the midfielder is now considering a short-term move away from the San Siro in January.
Kovacic made his international debut in a World Cup qualifier against Serbia on March 22, and has gone on to win six more caps.
Croatia booked their place in Brazil with a 2-0 victory over Iceland in a two-legged playoff.
